Abstract : Literary criticism in the last twenty years has constantly engendered a lack or abuse of the validity of the discourse in literary theory. The reconstruction of this validity will have to focus on the exploration of reason in the literary theory , which can be accessed only through a critical review of the traditional rationality. The excuse of a “Chinese way of reading” may help avoidance the scrutiny of the classical works. This extreme attitude of a critical reconstruction of the academic reason will perhaps be practical with modern literary studies at a time of doubts atout rationality and modernity.
