KEY WORDS:Xiaomintun Locus Southeast bronze foundry site pottery molds Bronze dating Dividing up the gains from Yin
ABSTRACT:The pottery molds unearthed from the bronze foundry site at Xiaomintun Locus Southeast are of great significance to the dating of bronzes between late Shang Dynasty and early Western Zhou Dynasty.Based on a close scrutiny of the age of 2000AGH31,we could know the age of related bronzes, and could also conclude that the bronze workshop still worked in the early years of Western Zhou Dynasty. The fact that actual products of those pottery molds have not been found so far at Yin-hsu could be related to “Dividing up the gains from Yin”.
