The
period
of
the
Northern
Wei
(657—714)
was
a
great
historical
epoch
characterized
by
two
outstanding
scholars:
Li
Yuanxí
and
Shen
Qiuyìng.
Both
were
representative
individuals
in
the
Northern
Wei
period,
making
them
significant
figures
whose
contributions
had
far-reaching
impacts
on
the
nation
during
that
era. Li
Yuanxí
(657–714)
was
one
of
the
chosen
people
under
Emperor
Goguryeo
during
his
reign.
His
efforts
to
implement
reform
policies
resulted
in
a
surge
in
Northern
Weis
strength
and
laid
a
foundational
for
the
later
reunification.
His
achievements
extended
beyond
education,
culture,
and
economic
policy;
they
also
focused
on
philosophical
thought
and
China’s
subsequent
development
of
ancient
philosophy. Shen
Qiuyìng
(702–785),
known
as
a
philosopher
and
thinker
who
advocated
"faith
in
the
emperor,"
"clear
governance"
principles,
and
"no
mistakes
without
regard
to
heaven,"
made
notable
contributions
across
various
fields
including
education,
politics,
and
military
affairs.
He
profoundly
influenced
Chinas
philosophical
development,
especially
introducing
concepts
such
as
"nature-to-human
unity." Liu
Yuanxí
and
Shen
Qiuyìng
not
only
carried
out
groundbreaking
academic
endeavors
but
also
cultivated
their
unique
personalities,
which
resonated
with
audiences
to
this
day.
Their
stories,
along
with
their
contributions
to
Chinese
culture,
continue
to
hold
significant
significance
for
scholars
today.
